Typographic Portrait

I used the words: bond, friendship, puppy, and love in this portrait. I used fonts that I downloaded for an earlier assignment this year. I used these instead of the pre-downloaded ones because I found these to be more creative than the presets. I chose this image, because I just got the puppy and wanted to do something creative, I also rarely take pictures of myself so this is one of the few I have taken of myself. I would give myself a B. I feel like I could've done a neater job on this, but overall I like the way it turned out.

Op Art

I feel like this is better than my spiral because it isn't as sloppy as my spiral. I better proportioned the squares far better than I did with the spirals. To be honest I didn't really watch the tutorial I just kind of winged it because I already had an image of what I kind of wanted to do. (I know I should've watched the tutorial though.) I'd give myself a low B because I guess it's not really that original and I could've done a lot more to it to really make it grab your eye.

Surrealism

What Happens In the Dark

The image I created is based on the theme "What happens in the dark." My initial idea wasn't quite like this but I worked with what images I could find. I thought it was kind of hard to find images that you wanted based on rights and stuff like that. Yes I used three textures and four images all together. My favorite part of this image would by far have to be the whale, I think I could have blended the girl swinging into the image better to give it a more real effect.

Black Square Problem

I am trying to illustrate tension in this image, as you can see in the toppling squares. I thought playful was the hardest to illustrate. Congested, I believe, was the easiest to illustrate. I chose this word because I felt like I illustrated it the best out of all the other words I had to do. Overall, I would give myself a B on this assignment, I could've been a little more creative I think.

Paintings..

I chose this image because I thought it would bring a challenge with the different colors of his shirt and his facial expression. The most challenging part in creating this image was his hair. It was so choppy and had different high and low lights. I like how this image turned out overall, I wish I would have had enough time to actually complete the entire image instead of cutting out the couch in the background. I would grade this as an A- or so due to the fact I met the criteria of dodge, burn, and all others yet I could've spent more time on it as well.
